#AtoZChallenge: P is For Perception

Perception varies person to person. You cannot change that. People perceive things by seeing its outside and come into conclusion by adding their thoughts on that. Hence, they perceive about you something that you show them and their personal beliefs that are developed by the interference of society. But, the fact is your attitude is not the same for all. It also varies according to the behaviors of the opposite person,  the situation where you belong and the condition of your mind. So, perception is totally an illusory thing.

Suppose, an action of yours is well supported by your friends, but your family criticizes you for that deed. In that case, how do you conclude yourself? The thoughts behind the support and the criticism are totally different. You cannot control their thoughts and perceptions as their mindsets are different. You can only fix yours. You are one, who knows in which platform and in which condition, you perform that action. So, you are only the right judge of yourself. People have no right to judge you according to their perceptions. There is no true mark of right doing or wrongdoing in our life. It depends on our beliefs only.

My perception is the flowers touches the sky. What is yours? Is it the sky gets down to touch the flower?

The beauty of a photograph depends on how the photographer sees the object through his/her lens.  In the same way, you can only discover the beauty of yourself by your own perception.  The reason behind, you know yourself better than the people around you.

So, see yourself through your lens, just like a good photographer. The only condition is you have to be impartial like a good judge. Don’t allow other peoples’ limited perceptions to define you. Either it makes you proud or it leads depression in your mind.  Both are harmful to you.  Keep in mind you are not what people perceive you.  You are what you perceive yourself. Give value to yourself first and know yourself. If you are valuable to yourself, other’s perceptions cannot make any difference for you.

This post is the part of Blogging From A to Z Challenge of April 2017 on Letter- P. My theme for this Challenge is Exploring The Beauty Of Living.

Bloom like a Flower

Bloom like a Flower

It is said the person, who doesn’t love flowers and children, has no humanity.  Flowers always carry the messages of love, innocence, and kindness. Flower is very much linked with our soul. It is as pure as our soul is. Its divinity, fragrance and beauty always give us comfort like the love and compassions of the pure soul.  But, most of the time, this beauty of our soul is veiled by the hard coat of our ego. Our pride, prestige, success, desire, etc., make this coat harder. That’s why; our inner beauty is always unseen by us. If we rupture this hard coat of ego, our souls will bloom like the flowers. And the beauty and sweetness of our soul will articulate in our every activity.

Bloom like a flower

The flowers are tiny, light and vulnerable also. When the rain comes, it becomes bent. When the rain goes and the sun shines, it becomes straight. It’s because the flowers are tiny and have a kind of  flexibility to adapt any situation.  It is vulnerable. Its life has no security. Any natural and artificial attack can end its life. Though, it is blooming and enjoying every beat of life without any fear. Flower teaches us the way of livingWe are always finding security in life.  But, security is only found in the graveyard. We forget to live to find the security outside the grave.

The tiny, light and vulnarable flowers.

It is happy and independent in nature.  Its happiness doesn’t depend on where it is. It may be present on the grass of beautiful garden or in the on stones of rocky soil. It blooms in its own rhythm. If we are truly happy from our inner core, our happiness doesn’t matter with the situations of our lives.

The  happiness of flower doesn’t depend on where it blooms. It’s happy even in the rocky soil.

In this photo, it looks like that the flowers are kissing the sky.

The flowers aretouching the ground.

And this photo shows the flowers are touching the ground. Thus, nothing is right, nothing is wrong.  Everything depends on our perceptions. You are not what people perceive you. You are what you perceive yourself.

A flower is simple, but it has a tremendous power of winning the heart. It can make us happy, can bring a smile in our face, can convey love and respect and so onward. It speaks the unspoken words. It crosses the distances, which we cannot be  able to over by our feet. It connects heart to heart. So, bloom like a flower.

Infinite within the Finite

Infinite within the Finite

Last week, I got an opportunity to drink the beauty of pure nature with forest, river, sky and Sun. It was awesome. Nature is very close to heart.  The heart knows to make a bond with the beautiful nature. When the bond is formed, their communication is visible. The unspoken words of nature are expressed in the spoken words of the heart. “Infinite within the finite” are the kind of unspoken words of nature. Nature always says the eternal truth. It is also said that nature is the best teacher of the world. So, the lesson, we have learned from nature, is also applied in our lives because nature always says the eternal truth.

Beauty is everywhere in nature. But the ultimate beauty is found when infinite expresses itself within the finite. The sky is infinite, boundless, limitless and beyond our perception. The trees are finite things. We can perceive it.  When you see the infinite blue sky within the finite green leaves of the trees, you can find the ultimate beauty of nature. It is the ultimate beauty because the leaves are green and the sky is blue. You cannot find this beauty if the sky is black or red. On the other hand, it also cannot be found if the leaves are red or black.

There must be a reason behind that.  The colors, green and blue, are very significant colors.  Blue is the color, which is beyond our perception. Sky and oceans are blue. It is also a celestial color. In Christianity, it signifies heaven. In Hinduism, the color of the skin of Hindu Gods Vishnu and Shiva is blue. So, anything beyond our perception, beyond the limits, beyond the count is blue.

Green is the color of the leaves of the trees that symbolize forest, garden, which is measurable and within our perception.

So, the combination of green and blue signifies finite and infinite, limit and limitless, perception and beyond perception.  The body has a limit. But, the true knowledge or wisdom has no limit. Knowledge doesn’t mean the education. Knowledge is beyond our normal education. Knowledge means knowing your true Self, that is; knowing the universe.

This universe is not outside of you. Look inside of yourself; everything that you want, you already are.”- Rumi

IMG_20160325_122218_1 (2)The actual beauty is the combination of body and vast wisdom. Beauty doesn’t mean the good looks and without the body knowledge has no existence. So, body and knowledge are the complementary to each other. When this combination is found in one, one becomes the symbol of ultimate beauty. Nature communicates the definition of actual beauty by the combination of the bounded green leaves and boundless blue sky. In the same way, the beauty of life is revealed when the infinite wisdom is expressed within the finite living. There is a beautiful song of Rabindra Nath Tagore that explains the enchanting beauty of life and nature also.

“O boundless, within bounds, you play your own tunes –

Hence, your light within me is so mellow.

In so many colors, fragrances, songs and metres

O formless, the play of your forms manifests within.

Hence, your beauty within me is so enchanting.

When you and I meet, everything opens up,

And the waves of the oceans of the world surge and dance.

There is no shadow in your light which finds its form in me,

It becomes beautiful and bewildered with my tears,

Hence, your beauty within me is so enchanting.”

Why do you try to impress others?

Why do you try to impress others?

Do you know what is the greatest prison of our life? We are always concerned about what other people are thinking about us. This thought makes us imprisoned within our unhappiness. To enjoy the freedom of life, one should  completely get over this thought. As much as you try to impress others, you will be confined within your self-made prison. So, no need to impress others to get the importance because three reasons:

  1. Perception: It varies person to person.  It’s not necessary that your perception will be same to others.  As much as you try to reach other people’s perception, you become tired and finally, you will get frustrated with your life.
  2. Satisfaction Level: Most of the people don’t know exactly their satisfaction level. They want things by comparing you with other people without considering situations and time. If you ever try to achieve their satisfaction level, you couldn’t do that. I’m sorry to say that. Since there is no exact limit of satisfaction and dissatisfaction.
  3. Expectations: We have no limit of expectations. We have less hope but have much expectation. So, if you try to fulfil someone’s expectation, you couldn’t be the exactly expected person to him/her. Since, the expectation is increasing at a rate of geometric progression.  If someone finds out that you are trying to fulfil his/her expectations, he/ she becomes very desperate to want more and more from you without considering your pain and your limit.

quote2

When you are trying to impress others, you are dictated by other’s command.  It forces you to live a dual life. That means, you are thinking one thing and saying another thing to the people or doing another thing for people. You are more concerned to say something, which is more convenient and comfortable for other people, whereas you are thinking totally different about that. You are very conscious of doing a thing that is easily accepted and admired by others, whereas you have a wish to do a completely opposite thing. So, living a dual life means losing freedom of life. Since you are always dictated by others command by ignoring your inner voice. The inner voice is very dangerous. It’s always haunting you like this way – do you really want that? Are you truly happy with that? Is it your morality? Are you being untrue to your nature and so many questions? Then you might feel suffocated by your own self-made prison.  For this reason, you have to experience tremendous mental pressure like depressions, anxiety, frustrations. Since, one cannot enjoy his morality, when he feels that he is being untrue to his nature. It seems like that to do beautiful things; you have to live a dreadful life.

So, stop living this dreadful dual life. A human birth is bliss to everyone. Live for yourself once and enjoy the freedom of life. Life is beautiful. You don’t have to try to make it beautiful.  Just accept it beautifully. Then, you can find out the beauty of the life. Just try to be moral for yourself. You can deceive everyone but not the inner voice or your true self. It starts nagging if you go against your nature. Nature of everyone is not similar. That’s why we are looking for like-minded people or try to choose partners close to our nature. We always try to be truthful to ourselves. A circle of similar-nature people helps us to stay in our own nature. It makes us feel comfortable within our circle. But, wise people always say that life starts beyond your comfort zone.

So, we have to gain the little courage to begin the journey of our life. Courage comes from our morality, from our truthfulness. It’s not necessary that we find similar minded people in everywhere of our travel. If we come in contacts of dissimilar-minded people, we should accept them as they are. Since, we cannot change their perceptions,  satisfactions and expectations. But, you can make them understand that like them you too have a particular nature, that is your morality. No one gives you the responsibility to fulfil their perceptions, satisfactions and expectations.  You just do your duty truthfully and are moral to yourself because at the end of the day you have to give an answer to yourself, not others. There are no places of excuses and explanations to your conscience.

This practice is quite difficult, but not more than living a life with a dual nature. It’s true that there must be a fear of rejections and a chance of being alone. But, those are not permanent. We need to respect ourselves first.  If you know to respect and give value to yourself, people around you must learn to respect you as you are.

Conclusion:

Don’t try to waste your time to impress others by decreasing your morality and ignoring your true nature. It only gives you pain and unhappiness. Try to listen to your inner voice and satisfy yourself. You cannot get any beautiful and happy life by ignoring your inner voice or conscience. Living a dual life only makes your life ugly.  If you want importance from other, try to give importance to yourself first. Only then, you can learn to give value others by not impressing them.  So, break the wall of your self-made prison and enjoy the happiness of freedom.

Can we express ourselves completely? No, our expressions depend on the situations, conditions of mind and the people around us.  So, our one action or reaction is not enough to judge us impartially.

Suppose, an action of yours is well supported by your friends, but your family criticizes you for that deed. In that case, how do you conclude yourself?
